The teach2play™ series is designed to help teach play skills to students with Autism and other developmental disorders. It encourages speech and language development through video modeling, so students can see the appropriate way to play – and learn.

How does it work?
The “play ladder” teaches play skills and each successive “step” in the play ladder represents a new, more advanced level of play skills. For example, a student might start from the lowest step, like putting toys together, and progress systematically through the highest step, like playing dress up.

Teach2play Volume 2-Core Play focuses on increasing the repertoire of play actions available to children and include extending actions towards toys with the child as the causal agent. These important skills help to form the critical foundation needed for children to advance to more imaginative, symbolic and creative levels of play.

The Volume 2 – Core Play teach2play™ play ladder covers:

• Step 5: FEED MY DINOSAUR: At this level of play, students play with a figure or doll, and causes everyday activities to happen to the doll or figure, like bringing play food to the mouth of a dinosaur.
• Step 6: THINGS THAT GO TOGETHER: At this level of play, students put two different items together in the way they are typically combined, like placing a pillow on a bed or putting candles on a birthday cake.
• Step 7: FEED DINOSAUR'S FAMILY: At this level, students can play with a series of related figures or dolls and causes the same, everyday activity to happen to all of the dolls or figures, like the child serving play food to a family of dinosaurs.
