The award-winning Paws Signs Stories software features original stories and educational games, each signed in American Sign Language, that cover important features of ASL. Linda Bove, the deaf actress on Sesame Street, dresses as Paws the dog and signs the stories, directions and game instructions. Each story utilizes strategies found successful in teaching early reading skills, like repeated phrases, patterned language and predictable structure, and focuses on a different skill, like visual memory, visual sequencing, literacy, spelling, math and creativity.

Featured stories include:

1. I Love My Car: The ASL classifier for "car" is used as the story focuses on opposites like "in" and "out," "over" and "under" and "wet" and "dry."
2. I Can Play Outside: Tells us how location affects the telling of a story in ASL.
3. I Like Many Things: A girl talks about all of the things that she likes, and each thing is signed using the same handshape in ASL, the "1" handshape. As a result, some of the signs are similar and encourage the use of visual discrimination skills.
4. Time to Wash: Teaches addition, subtraction and colors as a little girl hangs clothes on the clothesline.
5. And I Walked Some More: Follows a little boy as he explores the zoo. His descriptions of the animals show how facial expression is crucial when using adjectives in ASL.
