Designed to develop your student's understanding of basic concepts and to promote the use of expressive language, each StoryCards pack features one concept and contains four stories, and an endearing central character! StoryCards can be used alongside other, more structured, language resources in order to reinforce understanding and encourage generalization. On the reverse of each card is a reproducible line illustration for coloring and reinforcement of the concepts.

StoryCards: Adjectives features four stories:

• Story A - Elephant to the Rescue: Adjectives explored include big, little, wet and dry.


• Story B - A Home of his Own: Adjectives explored include full, empty, open and shut.


• Story C - Nowhere to Hide: Adjectives include long, short, tall and small.


• Story D - Time to Play: Adjectives include dirty, clean, dark and light.

Each adjective is repeated several times in various situations to reinforce the student's understanding of its meaning. Encourage expression using the adjectives, as the student's understanding increases! The student will also learn to expand early vocabulary to include situations outside their own world.

StoryCards: Adjectives can also be used to develop understanding of other concepts, including verbs, opposites, pronouns and comparatives/superlatives, alongside the adjectives. Each story can also be used for sequencing and retelling!
