Picture Cue Dictionary helps students perform everyday activities independently through the use of illustrated word cards that combine text and speech.

An easy-to-navigate program, it's divided into five word lists:

1. Daily activities
2. Housekeeping
3. Personal care
4. Mealtime
5. Shopping

Create lists that increase student's vocabulary and sight word recognition, or rehearse schedules and activities on the computer and then print them for use in community outings.

How it works
You create personalized student lists. Word cards can be presented with or without text and speech. The sequence of a word list can reflect a daily routine, menu preferences, an activity schedule, a shopping list or a functional vocabulary assignment. Students have three activity options: identification, match and text.

Identification: An identification activity shows each card in the list with printed words below the picture. To hear the card’s audio repeated, click on the picture or printed words. The left and right arrow buttons show the previous and next cards.

Multiple choice: A multiple choice activity shows a large picture card and multiple smaller cards. Click on the smaller card that matches the large card and then press the forward arrow button.

Match: A match activity shows two columns of cards. Click on a card in the left column and then click on its matching card in the right column; a line will be drawn connecting the two. Students can see the line drawn when they click and hold the mouse button from one card to a card in the other column.

Want to print what students are using on the computer? Choose from three printout styles: a text list, single illustrated cards or eight illustrated cards per page. Students can follow the printout in actual community settings like a grocery store or restaurant. Touchscreen, single switch and IntelliKeys compatible.
